Do you ever feel you are walking a lonely, difficult path? The Afro American Spiritual says, “Nobody knows the trouble I see, nobody knows but Jesus, sometimes I’m up, sometimes I’m down, sometimes I’m almost to the ground, Oh, yes, Lord! Oh, nobody knows the trouble I see, nobody knows but Jesus!
If you will go with Jesus, seeking his strength and guidance, you will see a world of beauty and gladness. Your life will be vital and beautiful for you.
The poet. John Oxenham, gave us these words about that choice:
To every man there openeth
A way and ways and a Way,
The High Soul climbs the high way,
The Low Soul gropes the Low,
And in between on the misty flats,
The rest drift to and fro,
But to every man there openeth
A High Way and a low,
And every man decideth
The way his soul shall go!
Which way will you go?
Almighty God, to You all hearts are open, all desires known, and from You no secrets are hidden. Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of Your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love You.
Guard our ways as we seek to please You. Heal our infirmities. Cause us to know how much we are loved by You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
