Scripture for today:

He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now.  He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no excuse for stumbling in him.  (I John 2:9-10)

O God, you know our hearts even better than we know ourselves.  We thank You that Jesus understands us and has come to us to inspire in us the love of Thy dear name.  Gracious Father, teach us how to grow in faith and service.  Show us the way.  Help us to know where we can receive help and strength.  Help us, in Christ Jesus, to know what we ought to do and help us do it.  Help us to be attentive to hear what you have for us.  Amen.
