The issue seems so simple. For example; If I knew basic fundamental beliefs of an organization, why would I try to change that. I would not join the Boy Scouts, and try to turn them into Girl Scouts; Become an Avon Rep, and make them let me sell Tupperware; move to the Alps, and complain about the snow:; ok, you get it. I would go somewhere else where my beliefs were accepted, instead of trying to force a belief on a Church that tries their best to teach the truth of God’s Word.
We are a Bible believing Church, in which we all know the Bible teaches that sexual immorality is wrong, and the practicing of such. We can make the same argument with several other issues (sins) that God teaches us that He abhors.
Now, where I really draw the line is when they bring the hate card in the game. I, and other Christians I know have no hate in their heart for any human being, and when that is played, we detest it. Hate is their patsy to play on emotion. The only way they ever win is to divide. Division is in Satan’s toolbox, and seems that when we make a stand, we are accused of intolerance, but they can make a stand for what they believe and it’s ok.
We hate sin, as God does, and where we do the greatest dis-service to others is patronize these sins, and allow what we all know God’s word plainly teaches that unrepented sin, and those lifestyles will not inherit the Kingdom of God. We can say we believe on the shed blood, but when we aren’t obedient, where is the fruit. We just don’t want these lifestyles forced upon us. We also don’t want anyone to parish, which sounds kinda like love to me.
There needs to be repentance, a turning from, and forgiveness will offered. We are called to separate ourselves from the world, but as stated above, we also cannot let any of God’s children fall. I will worship with any respectful believer, but when it comes to making allowances for Pastor’s and teachers, I don’t want our children or babes in Christ thinking certain lifestyles are ok.
We all need to evaluate our walk with the Lord, and remove from our lives what separates us from Him. The only way we know what that is, is to take His Word as truth, as direction, and not make it read what feels good in our own hearts. It is the truth, weather we believe it or not. We have to have discernment, and judgements to keep ourselves from straying. The Word is our baseline, our truth.
It is about time to take our Church back, there will be greater long-term gain to our church by taking the narrow road. Pray, and stand on the Word of God. Pray for our leaders to have the courage they need to follow God’s word instead of allowing the serpent to make the fruit seem ok.
